Provo Adventures

On Friday, Melissa and I drove down to Provo together. While we were there, we met up with our good ol' D.C. friends, David and Matthew. We had such a fantastic time together. Here's what we did:
  • Played sardines in the library (with awesome moving bookshelves).
  • Went to the top of the Kimball building, (the tallest building on BYU campus) only to find out we couldn't go to the observation tower... so we threw pennies down the cracks of the 12 flights of stairs, to see whose could go the furthest.
  • Went to David's dad's work office, but no one was there.
  • Went to an awesome science museum where we could make sound through PVC pipes, blow air at each other through this drum-looking gun, and talk to each other through a wired telephone/disk thing. It was pretty neat.
  • This is going to sound gross, but we stood over the bridge crossing the street and spit over the edge to see if we could hit the top of a passing bus. When I spit, I of course (because of my shortness) couldn't reach over the edge and missed.
  • Went to the BYU Creamery, where we all got some type of chocolate ice cream (we're definitely chocolate lovers). :) We had a great time talking and laughing until our insides hurt (but this had been happening all day, of course). After our ice cream, David was very nice and bought Cookies and Cream milk that Melissa said was delicious. Of course, she was right, and we drank the whole bottle. (I suggest you try some the next time you're at the BYU Creamery.) I was sick, and sounded like a frog, and I didn't want to get anyone else sick, so Melissa water fountained the milk into my mouth. It was quite the process...

{Mmmmm...}
{David with the 'lucky' penny. We played a pretty tricky trick on David with this penny... hee hee}
{We decided to put the 'lucky' penny in a napkin and into the napkin despenser for someone else to find} {Ah! Sudden insight! Just like the note & quarter we left in D.C. for your brother, David!}
{Little does anyone know that there is a special penny hidden in this magical despenser}

Fantastic Weekend

Last weekend was great. On Friday I went to Morgan's house to watch, "The Phantom of the Opera." Ever since Bravo Broadway, we have both been obsessed with it. We had been looking forward to this movie the whole week. The movie was fantastic, the music spectacular (we sang along of course), and the actors fabulous. Emmy Rossum is gorgeous and Gerard Butler (the Phantom) is much better looking than Patrick Wilson (Raoul). Ah! I loved it. Saturday I switched gears to another movie... "New Moon." My cousin Shalona won tickets, so she took Savanna and me along. It was so nice of her! New Moon was so much better than Twilight on a number of levels. The acting, directing, special effects, etc...
However, this is the main reason I liked it so much...When it comes to the books, I'm for Edward aaallll the way, but when it comes to the movies, I'm for Jacob. Ah! He's so good looking! I hear he had to gain a few pounds and work out a lot to be in this movie, but it was totally worth it. The best part, along with his muscles, was his haircut. It was the highlight of the movie. My favorite scene was when he was in the rain. with short hair. and no shirt. (I usually never say things like that, but I couldn't resist. And part of it was to make my mom's jaw drop). hee hee

After the movie, Josh and Shalona dropped me off at the BYU stadium. Morgan invited some of her friends and me to the game. It was freezing, but the game ended well with a winning score of 38 to 21 against Air Force. Oh! And guess what... on the way home we got lost. Not kidding. Cursed? I think so.

Go Cougars!

Alright, I know September 26th was over a month ago, but I wanted to post about my first BYU game. Cubby and Dan called me up and asked if I wanted to go to the BYU vs. Colorado State football game with them. I quickly put on my cougars shirt and headed out the door. It was extremely hot and we were in direct sunlight, but at half time we went to the other side and sat in the shade for the rest of the game with some other friends. Once we sat down, guess who was sitting in front of us...John Bytheway! A hilarious youth speaker who gives amazing inspirational talks and has written many books. I was so excited. It was neat to see someone who's usually talking to hundreds of people have a normal life and watch football! Throughout the game, Cubby and Dan helped out with my lack of football knowledge and explained moves, tackles, etc. By the end of the game, I felt like I knew most of the basics and it was really enjoyable to watch the game. In the end, the Cougars won 42 to 23. Go Cougs! After the game I went with Cubby and Dan, and three other boys to an all you can eat pizza restaurant. I tried to keep up with the guys and ate 5 pizzas (including a salad, pizza desserts, and ice cream). I know I shouldn't be proud of that but I am. With BYU winning and spending time with friends, I had a blast!
