This past month has been full of school craziness and fun. The first week of school was hot and stressful, but it got better as I realized I would survive my honors and ap classes (hopefully). I also started teaching my 15 piano students. They are so fun to be around and teach.
First day of schoolAlong with school comes the football games and dances. We had our homecoming game and creamed our opposing team. It was awesome! We have an amazing football team this year. The following day was the homecoming dance. I was asked by a kid named Tony. He asked me with balloons and a few pieces of paper. One paper said, "Will you go to Homecoming with me?" and in one of the balloons, another paper said, "With the one and only Tiger---Tony."

Of course I answered yes. I bought a box of Frosted Flakes with Tony the Tiger, and wrote yes on the inside. Then I had Savanna drop it off at his house.

For our day activity, our group went on an "Amazing Race" around our town, went ice blocking, then had a BBQ. It was my first time ice blocking and it was lots of fun.

Soon enough, 6:30 came around and it was time for Tony to pick me up for the dance.

It was Rachael's first dance and I was so excited to be in the same group with her.

Dinner was quite the experience. My date had quite the sense of humor, and could get anyone to laugh, but he was a little... different than most dates. For one thing, he had talked to almost the whole school, getting advice on how to kiss me. Hmm... what do I do there??? I hardly know this kid and he already wants to kiss me on the first date! There were lots of other experiences like that, but we made it through the night unharmed. On the bright side, he was very gentlemanlike. For example, every time he went to get me a drink, he would bring back a strawberry on my cup. Pretty soon my cup was so full of strawberries I thought they would all fall on my face when I drank!

Overall, I had a great time at the dance, even if my date had some Elvis/Michael Jackson/Napoleon Dynamite moves goin' on (and was performing all over the dance floor), and I was introduced to basically the whole school (I don't know how on earth so many people know Tony). It was definitely a homecoming to remember.
