Nikolay, the Russian

Today I randomly met a kid named Nikolay, from Russia. He just walked right up to Brooke and me after Institute and started talking to us. He had an accent, so I inquired and pretty soon he was speaking Russian! He's lived here for 11 years (he was adopted), told us about borscht, where he lived, and then asked if we had boyfriends. hahaha You could say my life is pretty great.

In other news, my good friend Elder Fennemore went to the MTC today. He's going to...yup, Russia. He should be departing from his family and entering the MTC right about now, actually. Miserable joy, I tell you. Miserable joy. He'll bless that country more than they know with his goodness and incredible testimony. He's basically going to be the most amazing missionary ever and the people will just love him. I know it. Good luck out there, Elder Fennemore! See you in two!

Live and Learn

This is why I don't make breakfast for my family/roommates.
Wanna have a lucky guess as to what it is? Can't guess it? Pancakes. Mushy, burnt, disgusting pancakes. Plus a burnt egg. Good thing I have college to learn/improve my cooking skills. I'm starting out simple-- with things such as pancakes and spaghetti. I'll gradually improve to harder things... hopefully. I'm gonna have to move on to harder things, otherwise my future Mr. won't have anything tasty to eat. And I sure don't want my lack of cooking to be a deal breaker. haha So, my motto for now is live and learn. Now I know not to put the heat on high for pancakes. Now I know to cook the egg after I've started cooking the pancakes. It all just takes practice. Live and learn. :)

Get Ready

...for facial expressions with Jessica.

"I'm pleased with myself for running today."

The Minnesota, "Don't cha know."

"Surprise!"

"Beaver"

"Thhuupe"

"Contortionist"

"Doobner"

"Fish"

"Goreeella"

"Piranha with dull teeth"

"Confused"

"Dizzy from said confusion"

"So very tired" (lots of tests and studying this week)

"Blow a kiss!"

"Lovestruck" (not for real)

"Fat"

"Weirdly proportioned head"

"Attempt to be normal"

"Cool dude, I look like a man."

"Smart? with flaming hot arms? uh--cha!"

"Eye poppin'"

In shrieking-high-pitched-laughter-of-a-mad-scientist, "Ahahahaha"

"Just swimmin' with my fishy friends"

"Hula baby, hula. Aloooooha!"

"Yes, she's got the whole world, in her hands."

"I guess that's a pretty sweet waterfall. I approve."

"So scared, part of my hair flew away"

"Hm?"

Dorky laugh, "ahuh"

"Ponderous and suspicious"

"What a talented tongue"

"Love ya'll!"

And that's another the first episode of facial expressions with Jessica. Thank you.
