Pine View Ladies

Today I took my last final for the next two years. Such a weird feeling. Yesterday I officially moved out of my apartment in Logan. We had roommate Christmas and took a few pictures together before I left. Not gonna lie, I was heartbroken. I cried all the way out of Logan and the rest of the night. I love these six best friends so much and I'm going to miss them more than I'll ever be able to express in words. I've learned so much from their amazing examples and friendship. Each of them are such sweet, thoughtful, smart, hilarious, beautiful, incredible ladies. I know that the decision for me to move out is right and I know I have so much going for me and my future, as do they. This helps a bit with the heart tugging but I'm still going to miss them beyond belief. Thanks, girls, for making the last 2 years the best of my life! I love you all!

Nikolay, the Russian

Today I randomly met a kid named Nikolay, from Russia. He just walked right up to Brooke and me after Institute and started talking to us. He had an accent, so I inquired and pretty soon he was speaking Russian! He's lived here for 11 years (he was adopted), told us about borscht, where he lived, and then asked if we had boyfriends. hahaha You could say my life is pretty great.

In other news, my good friend Elder Fennemore went to the MTC today. He's going to...yup, Russia. He should be departing from his family and entering the MTC right about now, actually. Miserable joy, I tell you. Miserable joy. He'll bless that country more than they know with his goodness and incredible testimony. He's basically going to be the most amazing missionary ever and the people will just love him. I know it. Good luck out there, Elder Fennemore! See you in two!

Kindgom Builder

"Many young women are serving missions. Many are preparing to serve, not because they aren't married or have nothing else to do, but because they have a desire to serve and are therefore being called to the work. The reason so many are going is because in the next generation Heavenly Father will be sending his Priesthood army to earth. He wants to send them to mothers who have been properly trained and taught in the Gospel, and what better training can young woman have than that of serving a mission?" -Gordon B. Hinckley

I have never felt so much relief, happiness, excitement, and peace in my life. This feels so right. I know the Church of Jesus Christ is true. I can't wait to spread that truth, to be a servant of the Lord, and share to the world the wonderful light and joy the Gospel brings.

As President Hanks always says, "Kingdom Builders: It's not what we do, it's who we are."

Dear Elder

Wanna know what's great? Birthdays. Wanna know what else? Missionaries. Put them together and you have one sweet package of awesomeness. For one of my friend's birthdays I bought a red tie and made a card to match.

The card flips open by lifting up the shirt from under the collar. Then you can write a cute little message inside. Here's a video describing how to make the card.

I love missionaries!!

Called to Serve

Farewell David! With your constant smiling face, positive attitude, strong testimony (best farewell talk I've ever heard) and never failing kindness, you are going to be the best of missionaries. The people in Japan are so incredibly blessed to have you. You will do extraordinary things. Best of luck and 'God be with you till we meet again.'
