Catch Up

The last few weeks have been busy but fun. Here's a review of the past few weeks.

Monday, May 25: Melissa and I went to a folk art museum for our last English culture credit. Yipee! The rooms were very colorful and full of neat artifacts. We even found an awesome, rusty fountain outside the museum.

Later that night, my family and I went to a nearby park. We had a lovely BBQ (dad fringed off his arm hairs!) , played around at the park, and went on a little hike. On the hike, we even found a little friend... a snake!
Tuesday, May 26: This was my first day of no piano lessons after telling Coila I was stopping the week before. It was a little strange not going... I'm already starting to miss my lessons. Rachael and I went to visit Brother Layton. He announced he was called as Bishop in his ward. We wish him the best of luck with his new calling, as well as with his new baby.

Wednesday, May 27: This was the first day of my high school's choir concert. It was Disney themed and we had a blast. The Sophomore girl's choir sang a Disney Silly-Sing-Along, God Help the Outcasts, and I Won't Say I'm in Love.
Thursday, May 28: This was the final day of our choir concert. Kaitlyn even came! I was so happy to see her. I hadn't seen her for a few months so it was great talking to her. She was so sweet and brought Rachael, Megan, and me pretty flowers. Friday, May 29: Friday night there was a get together at John McKay's house. He's a boy in my grade who has cancer, so a bunch of friends and I like to get together and play games with him to get his mind off things. We had a fun time playing Killer Bunnies and eating snacks.

Saturday, May 30: We had our Girls Camp fundraiser breakfast bright and early this morning. The bishopric cooked the breakfast, and Brother Olson made yummy apple cinammon pancakes. The fundraiser went well and the food was delicious.
Later that night we went to Grandma and Grandpa's to visit with cousins. We went to Firehouse Pizza and had a great time together. Little Rachel even sang the ABC's to me. It was so cute.

Sunday, May 31: Today we went to my other grandparents house to celebrate my grandpa's birthday. We had a lovely BBQ. Grandma made her famous potato salad, and grandpa made his famous ice cream. Our family gave grandpa a gazebo for his birthday so we could eat outside in the shade. Most of the family was there, including Josh and Shalona, who brought their new baby Gavin. He was so sweet and cute, just like his older brothers. Crystal showed me pictures of the Taylor Swift concert her and Adam recently went to. I was so jealous but the pictures were awesome and I'm glad they had a fun time.

Monday, June 1: I had a ton of homework and studying today that I needed to finish for the end of school, so I worked from 3 pm to midnight. I was dead tired by the end of the night. Today was also the first intense rainfall of the year. Lightning, thunder, hail, rain, and all. It poured and poured and poured. Sammi went nuts and wanted to keep going outside to play in the rain. It was pretty funny.

Tuesday, June 2: Today I babysat some of the neighbor kids, Connor and Lea. They are such cute kids with the biggest, bluest eyes, and dark brown hair. We had a fun time playing together. That night for mutual, we played a get to know you game with our new leaders. It was great getting to know each other a bit better.

Wednesday, June 3: I had aboslutely no homework today. I think this was the first day in 177 days that I did not have homework. I didn't know what to do with myself! Mom and I went to Nielson's Frozen Custard, which has the best custard and fries, then went to the movie store and rented a bunch of oldies. We also rented You've Got Mail and Forever Strong. We watched the two newer movies and they were fabulous! I give both of them five star ratings.

Thursday, June 4: This was basically the last day of school. We had only one hour classes and we got out early to get our yearbooks. After I signed everyone's books and got a few pictures, and I went to Rachael's house. Kaitlyn, Sam, and Megan went as well and we visited and had ice cream together. Eventually people began to leave, but I stayed with Rachael. We ended up going to Burger King at 9:30 to get dinner. We had a wonderful time together celebrating the last day of school.

Friday, June 5: Today I slept in for the first time in weeks. It was wonderful! I organized and put away all my school supplies and then went to our neighbor's house for an end of school party. We had a fun time and I got to hold the cutest baby I have seen in a long time. She had eyes that took up half her face, and were bright blue. I couldn't get over how cute she was! When I got home, I watched My Fair Lady. I loved Audrey Hepburn, but I was a bit disappointed with the ending.
Saturday, June 6: Today I worked in the yard and dumped stuff off at the DI. While passing Dick's, I saw a fundraiser for my school's cheerleading squad, so I helped out and bought a cup of Italian Ice to share with my sister. It was quite delicious.

Finally I'm caught up! Now that summer is here, hopefully I will have more time to write about my many adventures.
