I 'Heart' MAP

*DISCLAIMER: If you are squeamish or feel queasy when you see any type of body part, you might not want to read this post.*
A few weeks ago, I dissected a cow heart in my Medical Anatomy and Physiology class at school. It was very intriguing to open the heart and actually see all the things we've learned about in class. It might gross others out to even look at a heart, but I think it's so cool! I think I've found my niche, and have discovered what I want to be when I grow up... an RN, or at least something in the medical field. I love my MAP class and learning about the body's anatomy and functions. I have the best teacher ever, which is definitely a plus. I love it.
Enjoy a few pics from the dissection. :)
{Look how big the heart is compared to my hand!}

{This is a picture of a cow's lungs AND heart. The heart is the yellow-ish, maroon-ish object on the lower right hand side of the picture. The lady who brought the hearts used a machine and filled the lungs with air. It was really neat because it went HUGE and it felt all squishy and spongy. Keep in mind the size of the heart compared to my hand. It kind of gives you an idea of the size of the lungs.... very big.}

{This is the lung/heart in comparison to a table. The black plastic wrap is covering an entire table about 6 feet long.}
