It's a Small World After All

On Tuesday, I went to my first Eagle Court of Honor. It was for two of my friends, Cubby and Dan, and a few other members from their ward. The ceremony was neat, and the awards were pretty awesome. They got their Eagle medal things (I don't know what they're called), neckerchiefs with eagles on them (this awarda and honor can never be taken from them), and an American flag that had flown over the White House. It was so cool! Cubby and Dan even built a fire in the fireplace to demonstrate their "Scout Skills." :) The ceremony went well, and when it came to the closing prayer, guess who said it? My uncle! I had no clue before the ceremony that Cubby and Dan were in my uncle's ward. My uncle Ryan was recently called as 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric, so he was at the ceremony. It was funny to see my uncle at the Court of Honor and then talk to him afterwards and explain the connections. What a small world! Another fun fact: Britttany and Baylee (girls in my Seminary class) are in my uncle's ward as well, and Brittany's dad is the 1st counselor, who was at the ceremony as well. I found this out about two weeks ago from my uncle. My mind was going crazy all night figuring out all the neat connections. I guess things like this happen when you go to high school and meet new people! What a great night for fun discoveries and my first Eagle Court of Honor.
